May 30, 2008:

The thunderstorms from the previous night dumped a lot of rain in the Ames area, and as a result the Squaw and mainly the Skunk River went out of their banks. My car was parked in the commuter lot that morning, and when I realized the flood potential, I ran down to the lot and moved my car. Pretty facinating pics.

When I arrived at the commuter lot.

Stadium lots starting to fill up.

South 6th Street closed.

Not such a pleasant welcome.

Lincoln Way and University Blvd, closed off.

13th Street and Stange, closed off.

Loader hauling sandbags on South Duff.

Lots of water.

Yep, more water.

Towing a car out of the Target parking lot.

Wading across the water.

Loading up sandbags on South Duff.

No lead paint toys will be bought today.
