Senior Thesis
My senior thesis research was entitled "Validation of Hail Detection in the 26 May 2010 Denver, CO, Hailstorm Using Dual-Polarization Radar". Through extensive use of dual-polarization Doppler radar data from the Colorado State University-CHILL (CSU-CHILL) radar, I validated and analyzed the location of hail reports from the 26 May 2010 severe hailstorm that affected the Denver, CO, metro area. Radar data and storm reports together were analyzed using the NCAR PPI-MMM software program, and I observed the distance between polarimetric hail indicators and reports of hail.
